New Haven Episcopal Wedding at Christ Church

Incense and architecture give Christ Church the feeling that you have stepped into an old European church. Founded in 1854, Christ Church has plenty of history and you get the sense of that everywhere you look. I had already shot a gay wedding at Christ Church and loved how welcoming it was of everyone involved. My old studio manager even sung in the choir at their wedding!

So as Aaron and Daniel planned their wedding from Florida, I knew it would be what they hoped for.

“We always wanted a religious ceremony (particularly a high mass- traditional wedding ceremony), and fortunately, we are members of a denomination that will marry and bless a same-sex couples’ marriage. We found Christ Church with the help of our local priest in Jacksonville, FL. We found The Study at Yale simply by viewing local venues. We wanted something unique (not the typical chain hotel). The Study at Yale was absolutely perfect!”

I usually post a list of vendors who made the event possible, but I love Danny and Aaron’s little note about me, I had to include it too:

“We highly recommend: Kelly Prizel (Photographer Extraordinaire)”

“The decorations, flowers, food, etc. Everything surpassed our expectations. Since we planned everything out of state, we were unable to see samples, etc., so, we were praying that everything turned out perfectly, which it did.”hangover supplies wedding getting ready at the study groom receiving gift groom tying shoesgroom placing corsage on mother

“Take plenty of time to plan! We set a date a little over a year before the big day. This was also a destination wedding as we are from Florida, so we flew up to New Haven about six months prior to finalize everything.”wedding ceremony christ church mother of groom walk up aisle wedding ceremony christ church two grooms exchanging vows grooms wedding ceremony christ church wedding groom with family grooms first kiss weddingWhat is your favorite thing about each other?

(Danny): His smile, laugh, his eyes, his sense of compassion.

(Aaron): His eyes, smile, personality.

Wise Words: “Whatever budget you’ve set in your head, double it, as that is the amount you will actually end of paying.”
