Celebrating DOMA and Prop 8 decisions // 2013 Sneak Peek of Gay Weddings
It’s kinda hard to believe yesterday’s good news for marriage equality. I ate cupcakes. I drank woodchuck cider. Natalie and I talked about all the ways this would effect us, day to day. We have been working with a family lawyer recently to ensure that all our bases were covered should anything come up. In the weeks ahead, more will come out talking about how these rulings will shake things up. Will we need these documents? Or new ones? What do we do next? But after seeing so many marriage certificates signed, so more horas danced, so many wonderful, loving couples get married (legally or not)…it feels really really awesome that all these couples are one more HUGE step towards having marriage equality. A lot of these weddings where I cried, because I’m the biggest happy crier ever, or helped lead them to see their partner for the first time on the wedding day or was just my weird self are now recognized on the federal level. I can check *married* on my taxes when I send them off to the US government.
So I thought it would be a ton of fun to feature all the fab couples I have photographed over the years to remind myself and anyone who reads this blog that soooo many couples are effected by decisions like this. Many of these couples now have children who are effected by this. That’s crazy!! So this post highlights all the 2013 couples I have been lucky enough to photograph- 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008 are coming too. Mostly, this just puts a huge smile on my face to see all my fun couples again.
Yesssss!!!!!! Beautiful!
Awww yay!!
A Great Day to celebrate with GREAT photos!!
